Yeah, Mediawiki rules

As I agreed with most of these complaints (http://blogs.kde.org/node/1952#comment-4773) and people know I am complaining about the current wiki.kde.org engine as often as possible - here are news/issues on the topic: Read More

KDE in Google's Summer of Code 2006

KDE is again participating in Google's Summer of Code. We did this last year and got 24 exciting projects running. They had all kinds of results, from widely successfull over interesting concept to mild failure. I mentored three projects and it certainly was a great and enjoyable experience, so I will be a mentor again this year. Read More

Then I tried update, but it told me that it was locked and I should do a cleanup. So I did a cleanup. It took approx. 5 minutes :-/ Now I'm updating again... Read More

Unit testing tutorial gets another step

I've just added another section to an example-based tutorial I've been working on. The tutorial aims to describe what you need to know to be able to write unit tests for Qt and KDE, using the QTestLib test framework. Read More

"Moving to PDF as a future print job spooling format" (linux.com)

Pipitas  |
Linux.com today published my article "Moving to PDF as a future print job spooling format". It's already generating some feedback.... Currently I'm writing down some more notes which may eventually crystalize into a series of articles. Each one will deal with one of the topics I outlined in my last blog entry. Not sure were I'll publish all of these; probably also here (I can't imagine there is a Linux-leaning news site out there that would run a series of boring printing articles over 4-6 weeks). Konquering Berlin

I decided to change the post title when I looked at the Planet and saw that Matthias's post about the Berlin office is right up there at the top. So, my news for the day, is...wait for it...yep, I'm moving to Berlin. And no, not to work for Trolltech -- though Rich joked that I seem to be the only KDE person switching jobs and not going there. I'll be leaving the SAP LinuxLab, after almost four years, at the end of June to work for a pro-audio software company in Berlin. In a meeting today I announced the news to the rest of the LinuxLab (previously only my manager had known) so I can finally mention it publicly, though I made the decision a few months back. Read More
