I just commited the finalized KRatingPainter to svn trunk which allows to paint a rating value using any QPainter. I think it is quite nice since it allows to specify the alignment, a spacing, a custom icon, the maximum rating, a hover rating, and so forth. And I think it would be great if this class (and its easy-usage widget companion KRatingWidget) would be used throughout KDE whenever we want to display a rating value. With the great intro provided about Plasma Packages to get Apple's Dashboard Widgets running, it follows a screenshot that shows SuperKaramba - yes, it works with legacy *.skz files. btw, SuperKaramba example that uses KHTML to display content :)

Thiago has set up the KDE Summer of Code 2008 ideas page. Thanks! I've put some ideas on there (far more than I could possibly mentor), and I'd like everyone else to do so too. The reason is that ideas are fairly cheap, and we need to get students inspired. From previous years, some of the best ideas came from students (not from the mentors' list). So, after Saturday's FOSDEM KDE Group Picture, perhaps it's now time to give a slightly fuller account of FOSDEM 2008 (with pictures). Since most of my pictures from the main tracks were too blurry anyway, I'll just focus on some of my pictures related to the KDE FOSDEM 2008 presence (leaving out some pics of individual persons and overview shots). Photos have only been resized and cropped where somewhat appropriate.
