[OT] How to get Webex working on SUSE Linux 12.2 64bit

Sorry, for posting this on blogs.kde.org, but I think it might help a few people out there having the same problem.

MS to reuse name from KDE and NSIS

Oh my. Microsoft has been using the "Metro" name to describe their new UX without prior careful checking for trademark infringement. PR blunder: Teutonic retailer Metro AG had to threaten them with legal action just two months before Win 8 release, when I bet some folders advertising Metro were already printed out.

de Icaza: we're dropping XAML; QML's human friendly

Short story: Almost 3 years ago Miguel praised elegance of QML compared to XAML. It took so much time to abandon Moonlight but other than technical, the hottest reason is abandoning the XAML/Silverlight and whole .NET-on-Desktops idea by Microsoft itself.

Multiple everything - using VMWare, VirtualBox and Multisystem usb drives

Recently there was an post on Hacker News about collective nouns for birds in English. I run loads of virtual machines on my computer and I wonder what they should be called - 'a herd of virtual machines'? I have the mediocre Windows 7 Home Premium, and I wonder if that should be called a 'A badling of windows' after the phrase 'A badling of ducks'.

Can Web Developers Scale?

McGrath's dream, linked by Henri:

"There's a huge pool of web developers with HTML and JS skills that can now contribute to desktop apps. Watch how fast GNOME and KDE advance when this happens."

Can Web Developers Scale?

Goodbye Okular

The Okular team has never been all that big. Recently we lost Pino as the maintainer. His reasons are his reasons, but I can't say I blame him. I can personally no longer tolerate the level of abuse that we're seeing on bug reports. The latest example is Wishlist item 157284

I'm unsubscribed from the okular-devel mailing list. I'm not going to be in #okular. I'll still look at XPS bugs if I notice them.

From the middle of nowhere

I recently had a crash that was hard to fix. Well, it IS hard to fix because I am still on it. It is again one of these "from the middle of nowhere" bugs KDE is so good in producing. I means those bugs that originate from a wrong-understood idea of automation. The programmer does not have to do anything because the framework will do it for him. Super. That leads to a problem if the framework does not do it correctly. The programmer will not see any way how to debug the problem at all and will have to become a framework-developer.
