...there are just "vanilla" kde... so...

Distro additions
If you run Kubuntu, RedHat or SuSE KDE packages, you get a 3 different experiences. All very different from the one intended by the KDE developers.
They have their own window decorations, but also a very different setup in the menus. And Konqueror gets a really massive makeover in Kubuntu.
Basically, if you move from a plain install of one distro to another, you'll almost get the feeling its another desktop.
