Providing D-BUS FunLast week Cornelius blogged about having some D-BUS Fun using the Qt3 D-BUS bindings I had backported from Harald Fernengel's Qt4 bindings. Later that week an email conversation between Cornelius, Will Stephenson and myself resulted in the decision to put the bindings into KDE's SVN repository for shared development. In the meanwhile I have finished their API DOX and Mr. APIDOX himself put them up at EBN. A first release of the bindings suitable for the current D-BUS release (0.60) can be found here (about 400KB)

Yay, DBUS bindings are alive again!
I've been hoping someone would do this since the old bindings stopped getting updated with new DBUS releases (I'm a Fedora user and they rev. HAL and DBUS fairly regularly, so KDE stopped getting built with HAL support), so thanks!
Are there any plans to update the stuff in the KDE 3.5 branch to use these bindings so people with recent DBUS installations can use HAL and KDE again?
Thanks,
Jesse
Good question
If I understood it correctly some people are looking forward to use these bindings instead of the old ones.
Which would be great as it gets me some real world testing :)
