Kastle Surprise

I wanted to go to Kastle. I wanted to go really badly. Well, unfortunately it happens during the only week my girlfriend and I could have gone on vacation this year. Now she's busy with her diploma thesis and I could go to N7Y, but registration is closed. ARGH! I hope it will be possible to get some last-minute planning done.

fun with kio_obex

Well today was a complete waste for anything other than getting linux booting reliably on my powerbook again (dont ask) and messing with my cellphone and cvs:[kdenonbeta/kio_obex|kio_obex].

I have to say so far Im impressed. It autodetected my cellphone via IrDA and listed the contents. I could copy vCard phone numbers strait off of it into my KDE address book, and was even able to make it a directory based resource with some help. Very COOL :)

No More Classes! (or AKA how to post two of the same blog)

ok, yup, i'm a dumbass, i posted two of the same blog, but i'm going back and editing this one so :P

Well, today has turned out to be a weird day so far. Nothing just feels right, but I did get paid. :D Has anybody tried to new crystal icons (0.9) on kde-look? They all look really nice. It would be cool if we could get the lastest version imported into CVS into KDE 3.2. Perhaps somebody will talk to Everaldo about that. :) He does have a CVS account now though, so he could do it himself, hmmmmm..........

No More Classes!

YAY! One last exam (at 6pm today) and then I'm done with stupid summer classes!! After that exam, the weekend starts, along with my two week break from school before fall classes start. Fortunately for me, I'm only taking 12 hours in the fall, and so I should have plenty of time to hack then too. I get to hack at work sometimes too, although It's mostly when I don't have anything else to do, so wouldn't say that I get paid to hack on KDE. But all in all, it just looks like I'll have more time for KDE hacking (which is always a good thing). :D

The bot seems to behave, so I welcome any testers. If you want to use it, subscribe to it at kdedevelopers@jabber.org. It will reply with a short welcome message and ask for authorization in turn.Use $help to get a small help text and one command per message. Your passwords are being encrypted, so you don't have to fear that I will collect them. :)

Jabber Blog Bot Finished

I created a Jabber blog bot today which you can use to post diary entries to this blog via your favorite Jabber client.

It's a PHP script and it actually seems to work, this message here has been posted using the bot. I'll try to leave it running overnight and if it behaves, I'll look for a server that will be able to run the script 24/7 so everybody can use it.

DCOPSignals now work in DCOPPython

Okay so I couldn't sleep last night, so I spent the night playing with dcop python and found that dcop signals where missing. Needless to say I added them.

cvs:[kdebindings/dcoppython/test/signal.py|This] short example script shows off the happy new functions in action.

Python + DCOP = Cheap Public Relations

So i was mucking with dcop some tonight and playing with the new python bindings. The new bindings are much faster and are self contained so you can use them from PyGTK or PyQt. So I was hacking some and came up with a trival app that I was able to drag and drop almost directly from KDCOP.
