No More Classes!

YAY! One last exam (at 6pm today) and then I'm done with stupid summer classes!! After that exam, the weekend starts, along with my two week break from school before fall classes start. Fortunately for me, I'm only taking 12 hours in the fall, and so I should have plenty of time to hack then too. I get to hack at work sometimes too, although It's mostly when I don't have anything else to do, so wouldn't say that I get paid to hack on KDE. But all in all, it just looks like I'll have more time for KDE hacking (which is always a good thing). :D

Blogbot testers welcome

The bot seems to behave, so I welcome any testers. If you want to use it, subscribe to it at kdedevelopers@jabber.org. It will reply with a short welcome message and ask for authorization in turn.Use $help to get a small help text and one command per message. Your passwords are being encrypted, so you don't have to fear that I will collect them. :)

greetings from Chile

I am on the last night of a 4-night observing run at the Magellan 6.5-m telescope, and KStars has been my lovely-and-talented observing assistant for the whole run.

Jabber Blog Bot Finished

I created a Jabber blog bot today which you can use to post diary entries to this blog via your favorite Jabber client.

It's a PHP script and it actually seems to work, this message here has been posted using the bot. I'll try to leave it running overnight and if it behaves, I'll look for a server that will be able to run the script 24/7 so everybody can use it.

DCOPSignals now work in DCOPPython

Okay so I couldn't sleep last night, so I spent the night playing with dcop python and found that dcop signals where missing. Needless to say I added them.

cvs:[kdebindings/dcoppython/test/signal.py|This] short example script shows off the happy new functions in action.

Python + DCOP = Cheap Public Relations

So i was mucking with dcop some tonight and playing with the new python bindings. The new bindings are much faster and are self contained so you can use them from PyGTK or PyQt. So I was hacking some and came up with a trival app that I was able to drag and drop almost directly from KDCOP.

A little bit more to see

There's a little bit more to see here now. I wanna write a blog, but I just don't have motivation at the moment since i have an exam in about 3 hours (must study!).

Ok, after spending about 20 minutes typing, I closed the other tabs I had open, and the page reloaded. :(

Kopete 0.7 released

Woohoo the site is back! Good time to announce Kopete 0.7 is out of the door, even though that's probably old news for most. Except for a few upgrade issues and an ICQ password problem, the majority of things seems to be stable. However, not a very long time has passed yet and I am putting this in relation to the previous releases. :)

Busy, but still thinking of releases

So yes, I'm busy, but still I managed to get some time for the Krecipes development. Things seem to go fine, and I expect a release in 2 weeks may be (cross fingers).

I'm now addressing the biggest issue: MySQL. Krecipes users don't know how to set it up, and things seem to vary between distros and obviously there are also source installations. So this thing may bring me more problems than solutions, but I'll be adding another part to the wizard to set up MySQL automagically.
