Back to work
Monday, 1 September 2008
Summer is gone. No more pictures or travelling, lack of time for much opensource... that's life.
I will also be moving soon, and that will make my spare time even shorter. Lets hope there will still be some spare time during the weekends!

I'm real sorry, but the images in this blog post were lost in a server move (kdedevelopers cannot host images), so I had to delete it altogether =(

Photo KDE Tutorial 1-1: Levels adjust
Friday, 15 August 2008
This is possibly one of the most widely used and most simple method to adjust an image. It's so simple and effective that you will want to use it on all your pictures from now on, so keep an eye on this, and have fun.

What KDE can do for your (photo-)memories
Thursday, 14 August 2008
Photography has changed a lot since digital cameras broke into our lives and replaced film cameras. Camera makers have made great efforts to convince us that digital is better, and that new digital cameras are worth their money.

Holidays!
Tuesday, 5 August 2008
Such a boring title. And so obvious. But it's August: everyone around packs, get their kids in the cars and rush for miles until they reach to the hot summer beaches.... puagh! not my style. You won't see uga roasting his back under the sun just to look like the Guinness Record of Large Red Tomatoes. Life got other interests to keep my time busy. Different cultured and tourist-free destinations where you can taste the flavor of magestic culinaires not adapted to local aberrations, or you can just walk through, admiring their architecture and nature.

Blue Numbers

KDE has always been a community that I saw myself very happy with. Open, friendly and cheerful to newcomers. To improve that, and not to diminish the quality of coding while doing so, #kde-devel is better used for coding only, and suggests #kde-cafe for a socialisation channel. I promoted the use of that channel in the past.

kde, compiz and alt+f2: lets make it possible
Tuesday, 29 August 2006
Yeah, I fell into the trap too. It's a toy, just a toy. But I can't ignore eyecandy =)
There's some annoying 'g' dependancy on it for now, but I couldn't resist. Most of you will also have experimented with it, and possibly found that your dear minicli is no more accessible through Alt+F2 shortcut. Of course, this is unacceptable for me, given I use it at least 99 times a day. And possibly annoying for you too, right?

Save the musiK!
Friday, 14 October 2005
In case you haven't noticed, there's a nice cute little menu in amaroK's playlist which mentions the horrible word "delete". Yes sir, delete, as in "remove completely from your harddisk". The option is side by side with "remove from playlist" option, so loosing your files by mistake is so easy. (nobody reads warnings nowadays, and everyone knows that).

WARNING! Power user at keyboard!
Saturday, 25 September 2004
There are some days when one shouldn't touch a computer keyboard. Today must be one of those days. But we'll never learn, and we'll keep doing these stupid things once, and again, and again. It must be Murphy who probably wrote:

To build, or not to build, that's a kdepim question
Saturday, 4 September 2004
I thought this would be a good moment to blog. So you ask .. why? Well, I began rebuilding kde from scratch, and I reached to kdepim. Yes, you guessed. I spent the last 2 hours fixing the build, and still haven't fixed it :) First it was unsermake problem, now kconfigs don't build, dirs don't get build in the right order... So I got no e-mail, no konvi, addressbooks ... to sum it up, I'm un-PIMized, disconnected from the rest of the world

Can't do that
Sunday, 28 March 2004
Heh, 3 hours ago I was about to drop this little project. 3 hours later, I'm back thinking I can't do that. I can't just drop it and go away. I'm not that kind of person. I think blogging about one's complaints and stopping coding for 3 hours helps thinking better. Really, try it. I guess I didn't sleep enough, was stuck with the project and as a result I got a hit by the frustration. I was even thinking of joining the Gnom... nah! that's just not possible ;)

Project almost finished, About to drop it
Sunday, 28 March 2004
It's not easy to explain why one begins doing opensource code. For once, you find some good software, and can't resist the temptation to look at its code and improve it. On the other hand, it's a good means to learn coding, specially working on team projects. But one of the most important factors is probably that someone is using your code, and thinks its useful.

Here we go, 0.4!
Thursday, 30 October 2003
It seems we're coming close to a new release. When? Dunno, just give time to time for bugfixing. Krecipes 0.4 has quite a few additional features, so we cannot hold the beast anymore on the servers. Someone will have to download it soon before it explodes!

Disappointed
Thursday, 18 September 2003
So yes, another step back in the Krecipes usability. SQLite is nice, easy to install, easy to code... but in two (or 3) words: "it's crap". Slower than a cow trying to climb up a ladder.

In bad mood and annoying people

Yeap, I was in really bad mood today, and I think I even managed to annoy some koffice developers today :-( Sorry Beineri! I hope the comments I added in the lists will help fixing the issues in KPresenter.

So yes, I'm busy, but still I managed to get some time for the Krecipes development. Things seem to go fine, and I expect a release in 2 weeks may be (cross fingers).

Krecipes 0.2: Recipes for geeks
Tuesday, 22 July 2003
I need more testers for this little beast, guys. Or is it that there're no bugs left? :-) Just to let you know, this version includes two delicious recipes from and for geeks. One by Adriaan de Groot, and another one by me. Even developers cook sometimes...
