api.kde.org down! so what?

KDE Developers may have noticed that the developer documentation server at api.kde.org is down. This is due to a hardware failure which will be recovered next week. That need not put the brakes on your work though, since if you have the source code on your system you can build the API docu locally yourself, as HTML, as man pages, or as Qt Assistant help files to view in Qt Assistant or Qt Creator.

Read all about it on techbase: http://techbase.kde.org/Development/Tools/apidox

I have been wanting to get kdelibs doc in Qt Assistant for a while, I wasn't aware it already existed. Thanks a lot!

FYI, for Fedora users, the HTML API documentation can be found in the kdelibs-apidocs and kdepimlibs-apidocs (sub)packages. We don't generate .qch files at this time though. (On the other hand, the plain HTML directories can be easily imported into the old KDevelop 3 Assistant. Maybe we should set this up by default, but Fedora 13 will ship KDevelop 4 instead of 3.)
