i think that the Universe has been trying to tell me something. since the beginning of the year one thing after another after another kept coming up to keep me away from KDE development. then yesterday i realized that i didn't really care much for or about KDE anymore. so today i wiped KDE off my main box and installed GNOME from CVS. i'm totally excited about this object model thingy and feel that youthful exuberance in my fingers once again. i can't WAIT to give the underscore key a good workout in the months to come. au revoir, KDE, i've found my true GHOME. i suppose this will be my last blog here. it was fun. luv, aaron.

Aaron,
You could have made this a little bit more credible by picking, say, XFCE or Windows XP like lypanov. ;)
Or...
You could have just said you wanted to change the usability guidelines to strip all configuration dialogs down to three panels with three options and applications three menus with three items per applications, or something to that effect. Some obtuse numerology argument to strip interfaces in KDE to simpler than GNOME could ever do would surely have been lively. ;-)
I guess you opted for the "low flame" April fools joke. ;-)
hehehe
Yeah... i would actually pay to see the logs of your responses on the gnome usability lists ;)
Well Goodbye
I hope you end up feeling spatial :).
It's true..
..Gnome hackers wear out their '_' keys seventeen times faster than KDE hackers!
However, I've been through 11 'k' keys in just the last 3 months. So, the question is of course, can amaroK users afford to sponsor me in k keys? If not I may have to fork amaroK to GTK simple to continue contributing. I'd hazard a guess and say I need a k key within the next 5 days people!
Oh, and Gnome needs you Aaron, have you tried to use it recently? Go improve the usability of that thing to give us some competition! ;-) And then come back :-)
April fools?
Ok, I'm gonna look like a total fool myself now, but this *is* a joke, right?
I dont know you, you dont know me, but I do admire your great work and effort you have put into KDE. If this is a joke (as I suspect), than just let me take the opportunity to thank you, and all the other KDE devs for your hard work anyways.
If this isn't a joke.... it is, right?
:p
PS: I registered just to post this :p
well, it IS april 1st .. so y
well, it IS april 1st .. so yes, it's safe to assume this is a joke; i thought the GNOME bit would make it obvious ;-)
i have been stupidly busy recently (the usual, and unusual, early-spring busyness), which has made it aggravatingly hard to find time to hack on KDE for more than 20 minutes here and there... but i'm not going anywhere.
