Why I think Kopete is deadish

I feel sorry to restart blogging after a long time with a rant, but I'm still working on the translation and I also started working as Gentoo dev, so I haven't had time to work on KNetLoad/general KDE apps.
Well time to start the rant, but before I want to say that I really respect Kopete developers, they did a good work, an extremely good one, but I think the way it's managed now it's moving it to the death.
In the past days there were many users who complained about problems with MSN, dued to changes on the MSN server. I don't know the exact details about this, but that's not so important.
I started in those days to use as IM client the other machine, with AdiumX on it. AdiumX is a libgaim-based im client for MacOSX.. I'm still using it now that the MSN problem is fixed. Why that? Because I find AdiumX more useful as an IM client.

I was thinking about KDE development seriously in the last days, also because of many posts on many developers' blogs. For instance, when I was looking at Aaron post about new users and new developers I found myself thinking about the "KDE: We Have A Lot Of Stuff" slogan. It's true: KDE has a very lot of stuff, but some stuff it's only dupe of dupe.

When a project is dying

I don't know if this happens to other out there, to start working on different thigs and then never make up them in a way that they are useful.
My ~/devel folder is getting bigger and bigger, with semi-working projects, and deprecated projects.

Ok I found some time before getting my new job to work on KNetLoad, as was found a crash when adding KNetLoad to a vertical bar.
I also wanted to start working on the SNMP stuff, so I reworked another time the reading code. This time it seems to be quite flexible to enhance it in the future.
