Akademy 2012 Call for Papers; Registration opens
Akademy—the annual world summit of the KDE Community—will take place from 30 June to 6 July in Tallinn, Estonia. This 10th edition of the KDE community conference will celebrate 15 years of KDE!
Registration for the conference is now open, and the Call for Papers has been published.
ownCloud 3 – Applications, Features, Improvements

KDE Telepathy releases first beta version
The KDE Telepathy team has made the first beta release of the new KDE Instant Messaging suite. This 0.3 release coincides with the release of KDE Workspaces, Applications and Platform 4.8.

Release 4.8: Features, Stability, Performance

Interview with Brian Alleyne, Sociologist Studying KDE
A few months ago, the British journal Sociology published an article titled "Challenging Code: A Sociological Reading of the KDE Free Software Project". KDE Makes Second 4.8 Release Candidate Available
Today KDE released the second release candidate for its renewed Workspaces, Applications, and Development Platform. With API, dependency and feature freezes in place, the KDE team's focus is now on fixing bugs and further polishing new and old functionality. Please give this release another good round of testing to help us release a rock-solid 4.8 later this month.

Akademy-es 2012 – Call for Host
KDE España has started planning Akademy-es 2012—the most important KDE-related event in Spain. The conference is an opportunity for Spanish KDE users and developers to meet, share experiences, catch up on KDE news, and plan for the future. Akademy-es includes a range of presentations, workshops, hacking sessions, informal get-togethers and an assembly of KDE España members. KDE members and supporters will be coming from other countries to enjoy famous Spanish hospitality and meet up with KDE friends.
Time for celebration - 4.8 Release Parties
Developers, testers, bug chasers and many more people are putting in a major effort on KDE's next major release. It will soon be time to appreciate the result, sit back and relax! The occasion calls for commemoration of KDE’s recent accomplishments.
